Julie Tyler's Bio

Name:

Julie Tyler

Hometown:

Spokane, WA

Blog:

I sit like a blog in front of the TV...oh wait, that's a log. Sorry, I haven't been converted to bloggerism yet. Isn't that some sort of a cult?

MySpace:

Yes, I have a myspace and it made me feel really cool for a few months a year or so ago. Now it just needs to be updated.

Facebook:

I'm getting there...give me time.

Family info:

I'm married to my best friend, Ed and we have three daughters. Emily is 25 and is married to Scott. They live in the Seattle area. Elisabeth is 24 and is in a master's program at Bethany University. Elyssa is 19 and is a sophomore, also at Bethany University. Don't forget about Lucy, our youngest daughter who is actually a pomeranian but thinks she's a person. She keeps busy working full-time at the church as our official greeter/floor cleaner.

Describe what you do at CLC:

I do whatever needs to be done to help make ministry happen. Sometimes it's organizing important lifechanging events, other times it's just picking up all the junk people leave around. Lately I've been "The Decider" making important lifechanging decisions about color schemes and window coverings. "Should we go with Restrained Gold or Mannered Gold?" I think I could actually have a promising career naming paint colors. Someday soon I will clean up my office...I think.

3 words that describe you:

gorgeous, hilarious, genius?? Maybe not. How about intuitive, compassionate and fun?

Biggest influences in your life:

The most obvious answer is the most true one for me. Jesus Christ. My husband has also had a huge influence on me and my friendship with Jesus. My daughters have truly influenced me to be a better person than I really am.

Favorite Santa Cruz restaurant:

Kianti's...can you ever get tired of it? Sit me down outside on a warm summer evening with a great plate of Kianti's pasta, interesting people walking by, good conversation with friends...life in Santa Cruz is good!

Favorite Music:

Chicago...mostly the band but I love the musical too. Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, John Denver (yes, it's 70s sap). My ipod is full of worship bands and my car radio is usually tuned to "Positive Alternative, More Music...Air 1"

Favorite Links:

I've only played at a couple of courses in this area...Casserly in Watsonville is kindof a ghetto course where you can go when you're almost broke. The little course in Scotts Valley is kindof fun too. I'm really not that great of a golfer. Oh...you mean internet links?

If you could be on any reality TV show, what would it be?

The Amazing Race is pretty amazing...hence, the name. I'd love to try it with one of my daughters. I think if I did it with my husband it would be the "Pastor and Wife" bickering on national TV. How about "America's Next Top Model - Mom Edition" well, maybe not. I'd also say American Idol but I'd only make it on the hilarious audition clips and that would be embarassing to my family and friends.
